Horse riding in the Snowy Mountains

Flyfishing on the Thredbo River

Pender Lea offers an impressive range of onsite activities, which include alpine horseback riding, and bushwalking. If you love fishing, Pender Lea has one of the most coveted fishing spots in the area. With private access to the Thredbo River, you will be sure to catch a trout for dinner. Gather family and friends and sit around the campfire, toast marshmallows and gaze up at the starry night sky.

There are also a number of offsite activities that change with the seasons so there is always something to do in the mountains. With winter comes snow, so skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts can hit the slopes at one of the nearby resorts. For something a bit different try snowshoeing or tubing and of course there’s always the après ski when you can snuggle in front of an open fire with a schnapps and a book to warm up after a day in the cold.

In summer the mountains transform into a nature lover’s paradise with walks and mountain bike tracks winding through the magnificent countryside. Enjoy a picnic among the alpine wildflowers, cast a line into one of the many creeks and streams or set out to explore the high country on horseback. At the end of the day, sit back and watch the wildlife come out to play.
While at Pender Lea, you simply cannot pass up the opportunity to indulge in a decadent in-house massage and use the spa and sauna facilities available.

There are plenty of events throughout the year bringing the towns and villages to life with the sounds of jazz, blues and country music featuring a line-up of Australia’s top entertainers.
