Sorry, we don’t provide any in-house transport to the ski resorts or Jindabyne. If you wish, we can organise a taxi for you, but we recommend that you bring your own car, or hire a car, to truly enjoy your holiday in the Snowy Mountains.
-Is there onsite parking for my car?
Yes, we have plenty of vehicle parking, however no undercover or valet parking is available.
-What is the Skitube?
The Skitube is our local underground train. It runs from Bullocks Flat (18km from Jindabye, outside the National Park) to Perisher Valley and on to Blue Cow.
-How do I get to Perisher?

VISTIOR TIPS

The Skitube only operates in winter. To access Perisher in Summer, turn onto the Alpine Way, heading North, and continue along until the T-intersection at the Shell Service Station, then turn left onto Kosciuszko Road. Remember, you’ll need an entry permit for Kosciuszko National Park, which can be purchased at the park entry gate - if you don’t mind queuing - or you can skip the queue by pre-purchasing a pass on your way through Jindabyne at the Snowy Region Visitor Information Centre.
-How do I get to Thredbo?
From Pender Lea, turn onto the Alpine Way, heading South and you’ll reach Thredbo in around 15 minutes. Remember, you’ll need an entry permit for Kosciuszko National Park, which can be purchased at the park entry gate - if you don’t mind queuing - or you can skip the queue by pre-purchasing a pass on your way through Jindabyne at the Snowy Region Visitor Information Centre.
-How far is Pender Lea from Jindabyne?
We are a 15 minute drive from Jindabyne, south on the Alpine Way.
-Are the roads difficult to travel?
Not really, but some of the local roads are a bit windy, so it’s best to drive a little slower so that you get to your destination safely. During peak times in winter, the roads can be busy, so you’ll need to take your time and drive with care. When it’s snowing, we ask you to use extra caution, lower your speed and drive to the current conditions, as you would in any inclement weather.
-How will I know when to fit snow chains?
Don’t worry, if you need chains on your tyres on the way up the mountain, you’ll be stopped at a chain-fitting bay by National Parks or a resort officer who will fill you in on the road conditions and help you fit the chains if necessary.
-Do I need snow chains for my car tyres?
That depends on Mother Nature! Most of the time, you won’t need chains to reach Pender Lea. However, when snow is forecast below a certain altitude, you may need chains. If the weather conditions mean you do need chains, they can be hired at most service stations in Cooma or Jindabyne. Before you leave home, it’s a really good idea to call the NSW RTA on 132 701 or 02 6450 5551 to check road conditions.

VISITOR TIPS

If you plan to drive to Thredbo or Perisher, the National Parks & Wildlife Service advises that chains must be carried by all non-4WD vehicles entering the Kosciuszko National Park.

-What is the Kosciuszko National Park entry fee?
