The Cottage - sleeps 13+
The Cottage

“Brilliant accommodation, great location, lovely setting” We took 3 families to Pender Lea and stayed in the Cottage. It was excellent with 3 double bedrooms, a kids room full of bunks, 4 bathrooms, spa, fireplace, and loads of family areas. The house was well-appointed with every appliance we could ever need. Fire wood was abundant and our hosts were wonderful, leaving the key in the door of the cottage without us having to go to reception at all. The accommodation is perfectly situated only 5 minutes from the ski tube up to Perisher. A great time was had by all, especially our children - living in Papua New Guinea, they had never seen snow before and it was a wonderful experience for them. The schnapz factory 2 minutes up the road towards Jindabyne is also well worth a visit - I recommend the pear.

The Bedsitter - sleeps 2+

“Charming” Stayed in the bedsitter (next to the big cottage). Very nice room. Nice surroundings. Good location for trip to Snowy Mountains, as it is between Jindabyne (10 minutes) and Therdbo (It is not in Thredbo Village: the Village is 20 minutes away.

Trip Advisor January 2010

“Charming accommodation with lots of character” We stayed in Bedsitter for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. The room was very clean, spacious and cozy with well equipped kitchen. In the evening we could also watch kangaroos coming from surrounding area close to our chalet! The only downside is that the chalets are all in quite remote area probably 20 min drive from Thredbo, but we didn't mind that at all and enjoyed our quiet holidays very much!

“Couldn’t ask for a better home away from home” We stayed in the Bedsitter, nice and cosy but everything we needed. Clean, well managed, and well appointed. Close to Jindabyne and not too far from Thredbo, but quiet and secluded. Fantastic value for money, we'll definitely return.

“Pender Lea Chalets/Girly weekend” We had two fantastic days here out of season, the weather was beautiful and the accommodation far exceeded our expectations, Log fire all set only needed a match, lots of nice wine , lovely people , spa bath with champers, sauna , beautiful food , lots of laughs, want to do it again very soon.

Trip Advisor February 2013

“wonderful secluded accommodation” Four of us (2 couples ) stayed 2nights at Pender Lea chalets in early April. Loved it! Spotless comfortable beautifully equipped duplex in a great location providing easy access to Thredbo and Jindabyne as well as several other resorts. Sauna and spa are great not to mention the fantastic fireplace! Good value for groups (sleeps 7) but maybe a little squeezy with more than 4-5.

Trip Advisor April 2013

"Wonderful Weekend” We ( 4 adults, 3 teenagers) stayed in the 2 bedroom chalet and loft. The place was spotless, well equipped kitchen and arriving at 9.30pm when it was -2 degrees walked into a beautifully warm building with a fireplace all set to go. The beds were great the loft a bit squishy height wise but it is after all, a loft and only for sleeping. Great location between Jindabyne and Thredbo and close proximity to Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery which has wonderful food. Definitely recommend.

Chalet for 10

“Absolutely gorgeous; clean, comfortable & charming!” From the moment we arrived at the 3 bed with loft Chalet, everyone was impressed both from the outside and then how gorgeous it was inside as you walk in the door to find it wonderfully warmed & welcoming inside, it was a lovely arrival after a long trip (from Sydney & Melbourne)! We were also impressed with the excellent facilities included (and how similar to the pictures online everything was!!). I was very impressed with how clean each room was, and also relieved at how well-equipped the kitchen was too! (I dragged almost our entire kitchen from home, including our coffee maker, just incase, but at least now I know for next time that everything I need is there!).... everything was so convenient, so clean, and so comfortable, we will definitely make the Pender Lea Chalets a regular destination to stay at with both sides of our families!. When organising our stay we found Julie most obliging and helpful, and when our booking receipt was posted to us, a considerate provision of directions was included which was very useful to the rest of our family members who were joining us from different directions. Overall, an absolutely wonderful stay, everyone LOVED it, we can't wait to visit again!! :)

“Beautiful setting, plenty of room, very comfortable - we loved it.” We spent 4 perfect days at Pender lea - beautiful weather, great accommodation with enough room for 4 teenagers to not get under each other's feet. Built a fire outside each night under the stars, very peaceful and relaxing. Owners are very friendly, efficient and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

“Beautiful quite location” Beautiful alpine chalets set amongst forest gives a nice wilderness feel to this place. Chalet was very well appointed with everything you could need! Short drive from Thredbo Village and the entrance to Kosciuszko Park.

“Incredibly clean, comfortable and charming-perfect holiday!” we stayed in pender lea in December, so during the summer season and we had an amazing holiday. we travelled with extended family, a small baby as well as a small pug! Everyone was close enough to each other in the 3 bedroom loft chalet to still enjoy each others company, but also had the choice for privacy as each room was incredibly well insulated and had a TV. we loved the sitting room with the beautiful fireplace and the quality kitchen. Location is incredibly good, its 10 minutes to Jindabyne, 15 minutes to thredbo. It was honestly the best holiday we have all ever had and Julie and Chris were incredibly helpful with anything that we needed. The cleanliness in the location was spectacular, not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere! Thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful holiday in the summer.

“Everything you could want and more!” This is the second year we have stayed in the 3 bedroom chalet for our annual ski holiday. It is in a perfect location – 5 minutes from the ski tube and 10 minutes from Jindabyne. It’s very quiet and secluded. The chalet is well appointed with a kitchen full of all the cooking equipment you would ever need. It has a large fridge, microwave, dishwasher & oven along with plenty of plates, cutlery, glasses and cups. There is a huge spa, sauna, washing machine and dryer. There is a dedicated storage area for skis, boots and helmets and a drying room for ski gear. The dining room seats 10 so everyone can eat together. In addition to the large LCD television in the lounge room, each bedroom has its own wall-mounted LCD TV. The slate floors of the chalet are all heated and each room can be regulated to suit your individual needs. The massive open fireplace is regularly stocked with wood by the owners so you don’t ever have to worry about running out. There is plenty of parking directly in front of the chalet which provides for easy unloading of ski gear each day. We’ll definitely be back again next year!

“Sheer comfort” I've stayed at one of the Pender Lea chalets (number 4) twice now in the Summer months. We love it and will be back again. There are 3 generous sized bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, a loft with three single beds, an additional bathroom with spa and sauna, large lounge, kitchen, dining room, log fire. Then there's outside where you'll find a BBQ, park benches and a fire pit with a cooking plate. The place is very comfortably furnished with leather lounges. In winter I would be hard pressed to think of a nicer place to come back to at the end of a days skiing. The ski tube station is just up the road and Jindabyne is a 10 minute drive. In summer Pender Lea makes a great base for fishing, mountain biking or horse riding holidays.

Trip Advisor January 2013

Stayed there in July what an amazing Chalet. Great location and the heated floors and fire place are the best. You cant go wrong with this place if your staying with the family, it has that cosy feel of a family home and i cant wait to go back. thank you so much Julie.

The Post Office - sleeps 5+

The Post Office is the real stand out! We loved it! Beautiful historic building, beautifully renovated restorted and expanded, we can't wait to go back next year! Even if you are not a skier you can enjoy the alpine experience and relax around the fire, watch foxtel, cook in the fully equiped kitchen or go horse riding!

Trip AdvisorStayed July 2009

We have just returned from Pender Lea (we stayed in the Post Office cottage) which made up one leg of our summer holiday. We spent 4 nights in this amazing cottage, feeling a world away from our hectic lives, but with all the comforts you could ever want.

Trip AdvisorStayed January 2011

We stayed at Penderlea Chalets in the Post Office chalet for 3 nights with another couple. We were very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful building and attention to detail that has gone into furnishing and finishing the property. It's a great choice for two couples as there are two bedrooms that have their own bathrooms, located at opposite ends of the house, which gives you a lot of privacy.

The Barn - sleeps 11+

Wow! We stayed at the barn and it is so beautiful. Wonderful for a family with all cooking needs attended to and a separate tv room. We will return!!!

GoogleA year ago

We stayed at Penders Barn as a group of 6 adults and 5 children. The whole experience was simply awesome. The house is absolutely ideal, well fitted out aesthetically and practically and brilliantly located. It had everything we needed and the owners were extremely accessible when we had requests or needed any help. We'll definitely be looking to return and will highly recommend this accommodation to anyone heading to the area. Thanks guys, it was great and so were you. P.S. we wish we'd heard about Warrens accomplished chef skills earlier, we'd have definitely booked him for a night.

From the second we arrived, we knew we were in for a fantastic family holiday. We chose to stay in The Barn - and I'm glad we did! It was brilliant. We have 4 young children so we usually expect a noisy household. Well, this time we were in for a treat. The kids had a ball, yet it felt utterly peaceful. The sheer size of the space meant that the kids could have a great time exploring, yet surprisingly it was still very quiet. It's such a lovely place with so much detail and all the features you could hope for. The kids loved toasting marshmallows in the fire place and there was heaps of fire wood to keep us going for a very long time.

We stayed at 'Penders Barn' and it was awesome. The house itself is magnificent and the location ideal. It has everything you need and we were really well looked after by the owners who quite obviously care about the experience their clientele have. Thanks a million guys, we'll hopefully be back and we'll definitely recommend.

I have stayed at Pender Lea several times now at different locations. I find the property a very good value and some locations outstanding. The Barn is top of the line with a great feel especially in the winter, heated floors are a luxury appreciated after a hard day of skiing. Owners are easy to communicate with and a pleasure to deal with. This is my favourite spot in the Snowy Mountains. Room Tip: The Barn is outstanding...

The Hilton - sleeps 6

We decided on a summer escape to the snowy's, and the Hilton was awesome! We arrived to a fire set in the fireplace on a chilly night, crawled under the feather doona in the comfy king bed, and woke in the morning to a kangaroo outside, wild king parrots, and horses. Would have loved to stay longer and will be back in summer and winter in future. Had the whole property to ourselves, and checked out all the other secluded cabins and cottages tucked away in the trees. The horseriding in the snow looks like a must do!

Google 2010

We have just returned from our stay at pender lea chalets. We stayed in The Hilton and had the most wonderful time. This divine cottage exceeded all our expectations!! It was warm, atmospheric and truly beautiful. The Hilton is perfectly positioned to all the ski fields. We were so sad to leave... especially Napoleon and Mandy (our 2 dogs that were kindly allowed to stay) We will be back!! LOVED IT

“Wow, you guys are the best!” Stayed in a park cabin in 2010 and loved it! We had heaps of room, a lovely warm cabin which was actually better then we expected. Huge bed and heated towel rack! We're keen snowboarders and found that there wasn't a lot of storage for out equipment but because these guys are out of town we weren't too worried about theives. Short drive into Jindabyne for pizza and only 20 mins ish into thredbo for snow! We'll be heading back here again!

“wonderful place to stay” Excellent place to stay, great for skiing close to everything been there three times now will go back for sure shhhhhh dont tell anyone or I wont get a booking next time. If you have a problem the management are keen to look after you.

Trip Advisor September 2011

“What a beautiful spot” My girlfiriend and I recently spent the Easter long weekend at Pender Lea, and what a fantastic place it was. We stayed in a park cabin - the king bed was extremey comfortable, and the bunks would be fine for kids. The cabin was maybe a touch on the small side for the 5 people it would sleep, but in such a beautiful spot you'd be mad to not be out in the great outdoors anyway! The kitchen was a little dated, but still had everything you need. The cabin was spotless throughout though. The property itself is absolutely massive, with great views of the mountains and set far enough off the road that you truly feel you've escaped to the wilderness. There are also only a small number of other cabins and chalets on the property, so even when it's full as it was when we were there you don't feel crowded in like in a caravan park. All in all this accommodation was excellent value for those seaking a beautiful spot and who aren't fussed with absolute luxury.
