The end of September hearalds the big thaw, the mountain throws its icy mantel aside and everything begins to once again grow. The wildflowers and alpine plants stretch towards the suns warm glow, animals poke their heads out from pouches and burrows and dine on the sweet spring grass and trout fill the rushing streams. After the spring rains and warm sunny days, the mountains burst into a spectacular show. Snow daisies, purple eye brights, yellows billy buttons make the hills glow. A sea of wildflowers covers the mountainside. Come and explore the breathtaking beauty of the mountains in summer, get out amongst it and breathe in its beauty.
In the warmer months the Snowy Mountains rolls out an amazing range of things to see and do. Bushwalking, fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, golf, tennis, water skiing and white water rafting to name a few. Pender Lea puts you in the heart of all the action.
If you love fishing Pender Lea has one of the most coveted fishing spots in the area. Our 4WD drive track winds down through remote wilderness to a private isolated fishing spot on the Thredbo River. Here you can fish for trout in one of the untouched pools or running rapids. Paradise for the fishing devotee. Many a legendary fishing tale has been born here.
A highlight for our guests is to explore the property on horseback. Ride to the top of Crackenback Peak Range and take in the breathtaking views of Ramshead Range and Lake Jindabyne. Picnic at one of our stunning viewpoints, or beside our wilderness section of the Thredbo River.
